A new paper from the lab: age and reproduction of barbeled plunderfishes

Check out our new publication about the reproductive traits and age of barbeled plunderfishes (Artedidraconidae, genus Pogonophryne) from the Weddell Sea.


Plunderfishes are a species rich group of Antarctic notothenioids.

By reading their otoliths, we have estimated how old they can get and by histological analysis we have assessed their spawning time and described how their gonads develop.
